“I am Terrorax, immortal among men! The dawning of this day marks the dawn of Nexus' rule over the Earth! But first, I will obliterate you, Maxwell! My new beginning, STARTS WITH YOUR END! —Terrorax to Maxwell McGrath, Turbo-Warriors
Doctor Prometheus Halifax was a major antagonist introduced in the Max Steel movie saga. He was a billionaire and the founder of the Halifax Industries, a company known for their sophisticated technology. Unknown to the rest of the world, however, Prometheus was a member of the Nexus cult under the name of Terrorax. He led an extensive research involving Maxwell McGrath's T.U.R.B.O. energy with the intent of exploring its true potential. The product of his research was Terror energy, a purple-colored energy Prometheus used to empower himself and to assist the Nexus to carry on with their plans of total world domination. After his initial confrontation against Max Steel, he activated three assassins, Night Howl, Snare and Monstro, to create his own version of Team Turbo, which he dubbed as Team Terror. He proceeded with his plans of deactivating Copper Canyon's technology, but his plans were thwarted by Max Steel and Team Turbo.
Left in a weakened state, Terrorax requested the help of the Elementors, promising to empower them with Terror energy. After recovering the Terror energy generator, which was captured by Max and his Team Turbo, Terrorax empowers himself, the Elementors and Team Terror, and returns with the Pantheon, a massive flying fortress, to rain down Terror energy on Copper Canyon. His actions eventually culminated into a battle against Max Steel, in which he met his demise.
Prometheus led a research involving Maxwell's T.U.R.B.O. energy. According to himself, he and the Nexus have been studying McGrath's energy signals for years.
After successfully capturing Max Steel and Team Turbo, the Nexus agents strapped an unconscious McGrath and Steel to a table. After the two woke up, Terrorax approached them, revealing he knew their names. With the use of a machine, Prometheus unlinked Steel from McGrath and began to torture Max to make him generate T.U.R.B.O. energy samples. After obtaining them, Terrorax claimed that the hero had outlived his usefulness and commanded his masked allies to electrocute him and Team Turbo, causing the latter to wake up. Extremely angered, Max nearly went supernova, releasing a massive T.U.R.B.O. energy that damaged the electronic apparels in the room, causing a large explosion.
Following his encounter with Max Steel, Terrorax returned to his hideout, where he contacted Lord Nexus and his cloaked allies. He revealed to have obtained T.U.R.B.O. energy samples and utilized a machine to synthesize their own "Terror Energy". Terrorax requested Nexus' permission to commence with their plan, of which he allowed.
Max fights Terrorax.
To commemorate his "ascension", Prometheus set up a reunion with other Nexus agents in the Halifax Industries' headquarters. Max and Alex, who had infiltrated the building using their Chameleon modes, witnessed as Prometheus injected Terror energy into himself, mutating into a large, silver-colored horned monster. The Nexus agent glorify him, claimed that he had ascended to rule over them. Terrorax approached Max and Alex, realizing that McGrath's power had changed, but he was still weak as he set limits for himself. A fight ensued between the two, with Terrorax eventually managing to knock down the duo. While he was about to kill them, Tempestra and C.Y.T.R.O. intervened, but he easily managed to defeat the former. The robot attempted to defeat him, but Terorax channeled Terror energy through his wrecking ball, launching him across the battlefield. He talked with Max, claiming that destroying him and his team was being harder than he imagined. While Tempestra and La Fiera distracted him, McGrath lifted a truck and threw at Terrorax, allowing him and his team to escape.
Terrorax warns the world.
On the next day, the Nexus legion hacked electronical devices around the world to reveal their intentions of destroying technology and offer them a chance to become a part of their cult. Terrorax later approached Nexus, who claimed that Prometheus had underestimated Max Steel's tenacity. He presented to him a group of three assassins, Night Howl, Snare and Monstro. After empowering them with Terror energy, each member was sent to a specific locations to fight Team Turbo, who were searching for Terrorax's energy emitters. Before doing so, Terrorax hacked Max and his allies' communication devices to boast about Team Terror. This, in turn, allowed Steel to obtain the coordinates of Terrorax's hideout.
Terrorax tries to kill Max.
During the preparation of his master plan, Terrorax was confronted by Team Turbo, who had succeeded in stopping Team Terror. After going Turbo, the group combined their attacks to fight Prometheus, who released an energy shockwave that knocked them back. He sent out Team Terror to distract them while he deactivated Copper Canyon's technology. After Max and his team knocked out Team Terror, they combined their attacks to temporarily detain Terrorax while McGrath used his T.U.R.B.O. energy to reactivate technology on the city. After realizing his plans were ruined, Terrorax released an energy shockwave that knocked out Team Turbo. Angered, Terrorax formed a drill on his chest and used his axe to attract Max toward him. He restrained him and reiterated that Max couldn't stop him or his Terror energy. McGrath began to focus and created Turbo Armor Mode, releasing a T.U.R.B.O. shockwave that knocked back Terrorax. A fight ensued between the two, with Max successfully stopping Terrorax. As his headquarters begin to crumble, Max and his team retreat, but not before rescuing Team Terror and capturing the Terror energy generator.
Terrorax was rescued by Nexus agents, who delivered him to lord Nexus. Shocked, Nexus commanded them to star the bio-restoration protocols, claiming that the first Terror energy test did not went as he expected. Terrorax, despite weakened his weakened state, claimed that he would regain his strength and destroy Max Steel.
On the top of the Pantheon, a weakened Terrorax observed Copper Canyon alongside the Elementors. Metal questioned why he had contacted them and Earth complemented, asking why he didn't resorted to lord Nexus. In response, Terrorax claimed he was too weakened and needed their help to regain his power. Promising powers beyond their wildest dreams, Terrorax managed to convince the Elementors, who shouted the Nexus' battle cry as the Pantheon approached Copper Canyon.
Terrorax finds the Terror energy generator.
While the Elementors distracted Max and Team Turbo in the Copper Canyon beach, Terrorax invaded their headquarters. While heading to the prison room, Terrorax left multiple bombs throughout the corridors. After rescuing Team Terror, they headed to Team Turbo's vault, where they the Terror energy generator was contained. The trio stole the generator and Terrorax activated the bombs, causing a massive explosion. He contacted the Elementors, claiming he had obtained the "package".
Terrorax recovers his power and empowers his minions.
Inside the Pantheon, Terrorax contacted lord Nexus, claiming he wouldn't fail him again. He charged himself with Terror energy, returning to his regular form, and empowered the Elementors and Team Terror. Hours later, the Nexus hacked electronical devices all around the world to communicate that the Pantheon would rain down Terror energy upon Copper Canyon until it was reduced to a smoking crater, serving as an example to the rest of the world in case they refused to submit to their cult. Terrorax later sent out Team Terror to deal with Max Steel and Team Turbo, culminating into Rayne and C.Y.T.R.O.'s capture. He later headed to the prison level to talk with Rayne and C.Y.T.R.O.. She claimed that Max and Alex would stop him and his plans, but Prometheus revealed that the ship was completely unassailable and inaccessible. He then commanded his subordinates to activate the exponential towers of the ship in preparation of Copper Canyon's destruction.
Terrorax and Max in the battle that will determine the fate of the Earth.
Hours later, Terrorax confronted Max, who was on the top of the Pantheon setting up devices on the exponential towers of the vehicle. After McGrath temporarily detained Terrorax, he set up the last device, causing the towers of the Pantheon to generate green T.U.R.B.O.. He was about to head back to the prison level to assist Team Turbo in their fight against the Elementors when Terrorax intervened. He transformed into a dragon-like form, gaining large wings and ax for hands. Claiming that his new beginning would start with Max's end, Terrorax and McGrath clash one last time. As the battle continued, Prometheus reevaled that he found Max's powers "formidable" and attempted to convince Max to join his side by showing him a warped vision of Earth after Nexus' conquest. Angered, Max knocked him back with a T.U.R.B.O. shockwave and used the wheels of his Turbo Mobile to impale Terrorax. After delivering a powerful blow to his face, Prometheus' dragon-like form is destroyed. However, he still lived as a small, winged form. He attempted to escape, but Max launched missiles at his direction, causing him to fall on a green T.U.R.B.O. energy. As a result, Terrorax burned to ashes, killing him.
Abilities[]
Terror Energy Generation: Following his encounter with Max Steel, Terrorax obtained several blue T.U.R.B.O. energy samples that he used to synthesize his own Terror energy. He later injected into himself, transforming his body and allowing him to generate said power in large quantities. He was gifted with superhuman conditions, becoming stronger, faster and far more durable than an average individual, as well with the ability of destroying technology. He could leak Terror energy from his eyes, fists and even create shockwaves.
Superhuman Strength: Terrorax was stronger than an average individual, being able to effortlessly equal Max's green T.U.R.B.O. powers.
Nigh-Durability: Terrorax was extremely durable and could endure physical pain for long periods. In Turbo-Charged, for example, he was able to endure multiple attacks from Max and La Fiera, returning harmless to the fight, and was able to survive a truck blowing up on him without any visible damage. His only known weak spot was Maxwell's green T.U.R.B.O. energy, which managed to temporarily weaken him.
Superhuman Speed: In his draconic form, Terrorax's wings allowed him to fly in high speed.
Shapeshifting: In Turbo-Warriors, Terrorax assumed the form of a dragon-like creature, gaining large wings and a tail. Additionally, he could also transform his hands into axes in this form.
Flight: Terorrax's draconic form allowed him to fly.
Immortality: As stated by himself in Turbo-Warriors, Terror energy gifted Terrorax with immortality as long as it ran through his veins.
Weapon Creation: Terrorax could create a large Terror-based axe out of thin air. It could launch spikes from its front, release/transfer Terror energy to a specific target and ensnare his victims. Terrorax also had the ability of creating a medium-sized drill in his chest, which also could be shot as a projectile.
Spikes Projectiles: Terrorax had the ability of shooting the purple spikes from his back (or axe) and regrow them.
Unlimited Stamina: Terrorax could fight during long periods against Max Steel without needing to rest.
Arsenal[]
Terror Energy: A purple-colored energy that Prometheus developed. It was highly destructive towards technology and Team Turbo's Steel-Tek.
Bombs: In Turbo-Warriors, Terrorax used bombs to blow up Team Turbo's headquarters.
Pantheon: Once a large ship used by the Nexus, Terrorax upgraded it to generate Terror Energy. His plan was to use the ship to deactivate the entire technology on Copper Canyon and other cities to force the innocent citizens to ally with Nexus and become a part of his society. However, the ship was destroyed thanks to Max Steel and Team Turbo's efforts.
Skills[]
Expert Tactician: Terrorax was a highly intelligent and ingenious individual, being capable of predicting Max and Team Turbo's moves more than once. After Rayne and C.Y.T.R.O. stole information about the location of the Terror energy emitters, Terrorax switched their position and instead sent Team Terror to take down Max Steel and Team Turbo after they went to investigate.
Weaknesses[]
Green T.U.R.B.O. Energy Vulnerability: Max's green T.U.R.B.O. energy is extremely harmful to Terrorax in large quantities. In Turbo-Charged, Max launched a potent, green T.U.R.B.O-charged projectile at Terrorax's chest, which damaged his body and reduced him to a weakened state. His ability of generating Terror energy was greatly affected as well, with Terrorax being limited to generating small sparks of his power.
Etymology[]
Prometheus's alter ego, Terrorax, comes from the word terror, which is a extreme fear. The termination comes from his real name (Halifax).

As a human, Prometheus was a tall adult man with pale skin. He had white spiky hair, brown eyes and was commonly seen wearing a black suit. He wears a mask with horns featuring a large mouth with fangs, a triangle in the forehead and wears purple shoulder pads, a long black and silver coat, black pants and black boots.
As a mutant, he gains a large and muscular build. He has three horns protuding from his head, yellow eyes with black pupils surrounded by black circles and spiky teeth. He has three purple stones protuding from his shoulders and few spikes on his forearm surrounding a purple stone. He has large hands with four fingers rather than five. He has few spikes on his thighs, a purple hexagon on his knee and three toes. He also appears carrying a large axe made out of Terror Energy.
After his defeat on Turbo-Charged, Terrorax's body is left emaciated and with a cavity on the chest as a result of the T.U.R.B.O. energy projectile launched on him. He later on wears a purple worn out cloak and black bandages on his biceps, torso and legs.
In Turbo-Warriors, Terrorax assumes a dragon-like form, gaining a pair of large wings and a segmented tail with a bladed formation on its tip. He can also transform his hands into axes. After being impaled by Max, he transformed into a smaller, weakened version of his draconic form, roughly resembling a bat. His head is mostly the same, but his fangs get thinner and sharper and his eyes glow yellow. His arms are connected to his wings and he retains his segmented tail, which became his body.
Personality[]
As a human, Prometheus was a cold, mysterious, cunning and elegant individual who blindly followed the orders of lord Nexus. Calm and collected, he was almost devoid of any emotion, showing little to no sense of humor. This was seen during his first meeting with Maxwell and Steel, where he was shown to be unresponsive towards their banter.
After mutating, Prometheus fully assumed the identity of Terrorax and retained his conscience and ideals of serving the Nexus legion and establishing a new world order. He saw his Terror energy as the key to change the world, and constantly reminded to Maxwell about how powerful and marvelous his Terror energy was. Terrorax was shown to be quite energetic in battles, as he mercilessly fought against Max and his team with violence to the point of almost killing them. Despite being quite intelligent, being capable of outsmarting his enemies more than once, Terrorax was extremely arrogant. He believed that because Max set lines and boundaries and held onto his morals, Max would never be able to use his T.U.R.B.O. energy to its fullest potential. Terrorax, on the other hand, believed his willingness to do anything with his powers made him stronger than Max. However, this proved to be his undoing, as Terrorax was ultimately defeated by Max’s resolve. Additionally, Terrorax remained calm and composed, and frequently enjoyed provoking his enemies, but he was quick to anger when his schemes went wrong.
Following his defeat in Turbo-Charged, Terrorax developed an extreme obsession toward his own creation and became obsessed in serving lord Nexus to prove himself, though his leader did not believe in him anymore. Notably, Terrorax genuinely believed Nexus to be the world's rightful ruler.

Terrorax was highly loyal to Nexus, referring to him as "Lord Nexus". He sought to serve his society, but after his defeat in Turbo-Charged, Nexus became disillusioned with Terrorax.
Terrorax's vision, in which he, Max and Nexus rule the Earth.
Terrorax and Max shared a mutual deep hatred. Prior to their first meeting, Terrorax found out about about Max's secret identity during his research, and used this information to intimidate him. In their initial encounter, Terrorax claimed that Max wasted his half-alien heritage, stating he didn't grasp its "boundless possibilities". Prometheus still found Max to be a weak individual, even after he unlocked his new green power. He reprimanded Max for having rules, lines and morals, while he was not set back by such "limitations". While Terrorax hated Max for stopping him from changing the world with his power, McGrath hated him for stealing his power and transforming it into a mass destruction weapon.
Despite his hatred, Terrorax seemingly respected Maxwell and his power. In Turbo-Warriors, he confessed to McGrath that his powers were "formidable" and showed him a vision were he, Max and Nexus ruled the rest of the world.
Team Terror respected Terrorax, with Night Howl in particular considering him as his "master". Terrorax is aware of their origins as well. In Turbo-Warriors, Terrorax invades Team Turbo's headquarters and rescues Team Terror. Monstro promptly hugged him, while Night Howl and Snare watched.
Terrorax's vision, in which Team Turbo has perished.
Terrorax and Team Turbo are enemies. He knows the secret identities of Alex and Rayne. In Turbo-Warriors, Terrorax briefly interacted with Martinez, who was sure Max and Alex would invade the Pantheon to take him down. Terrorax, however, crushed her hope by saying that the ship was completely inaccessible and unassailable. In Turbo-Charged, Terrorax fought against C.Y.T.R.O. and infected his systems with Terror energy, nearly permanently deactivating him.
Terrorax's vision in Turbo-Warriors shows Team Turbo's corpses, showcasing his deep hatred for them.
In Turbo-Warriors, Terrorax joined forces with the Elementors to take down Team Turbo. They were initially doubtful about him and his intentions, until he promised them powers beyond their wildest dreams.

Behind the Scenes[]
Terrorax is an original creation made for the reboot, but shares similarities with Psycho, a major enemy introduced in the 2000 Max Steel series. Prometheus' demonic mask features a permanent smile, similar to Psycho's metallic face which also featured a smile. Both are members of a villainous organization, being highly loyal to their leaders. Additionally, Terrorax was responsible for Max generating a new green T.U.R.B.O. power, while Psycho was indirectly responsible for the creation of the Max Steel persona. As such, it is possible that Terrorax may have been inspired by Psycho.
In the 2000 series, Psycho (real name unknown) was a high-ranking member of D.R.E.A.D., a terrorist organization led by John Dread, and Max Steel's arch-nemesis. During an invasion in one of N-Tek's facilities, Psycho was confronted by Josh McGrath, which ultimately led to the latter being exposed to Max-Probes, endangering his life. In order to save McGrath, Dr. Roberto "Berto" Martinez, a young N-Tek agent, conducted an experiment with Josh, gifting him superhuman conditions and the ability of altering his appearance. As such, Psycho is known as the man who created Max Steel. He possesses a metal face similar to that of a human skull and a large, unnatural smile, which prompted Max to give him the nickname of "Smiley". Psycho possesses a bionic right arm, allowing him to transform it into dangerous weapons such as claws or laser guns. Following John Dread's supposed death in the second season, Psycho became a solo villain. He is one of the two villains from the TV series, alongside Bio-Constrictor, to be featured in the Max Steel classic movie saga. Along with said villain, Psycho returned with the intent of evolving humanity into mutants like him and Max. However, his plans were thwarted by Max Steel and his allies, and Psycho ultimately perished in the combat. Despite this, he still represented a threat to the hero and the Earth, as he has left a seemingly endless army of robotic copies of himself to deal with Max.
The storyboards of Turbo-Charged reveal that Terrorax's axe was originally meant to be a part of his body, not a separate weapon.[1] His face is also different, with Terrorax having large, spherical eyes and a large mouth filled with irregular fangs.
Terrorax features a different, more intricate design utilized in the toy line. It is unknown why his animated and toy designs are different from each other.
Terrorax's dragon-like form is tentatively named "Dark Titan Terrorax".[2]
Terrorax's appearance resembles Crota from Destiny franchise and DC's Doomsday due to his spiky appearance.
Besides being voiced by Mark Oliver, Terrorax shows few similarities with Dread, such as:
Both are owners of famous companies. Dread is the owner of THI while Terrorax is the owner of Halifax Industries, which is named after his real identity.
Both characters are billionaires.
Both wanted Max's T.U.R.B.O. Energy, but for different purposes. They can also convert the same power into a negative and obscure energy.
They both have a connection with the Elementors.
He is the first villain to known about Max's secret identity. He also confirmed that knows about the alien origins of Max's T.U.R.B.O. Energy.
Terrorax is right-handed.
Prometheus was the first villain of the show to deliberately cause his own mutation.
Terrorax had his own profile on the official Max Steel website, although only the "Ability", "Occupation", and "Interests" sections contained unique information, while the rest of the profile was the same as Air Elementor's.
The idea of Prometheus stealing Max's energy to assist the Nexus legion likely is a reference to the mythological story of Prometheus, who stole fire and gave it to humanity.
The demon mask that Terrorax wore bore a resemblance with Oni masks. In the Japanese culture, the Oni are portrayed as monstrous and large creatures usually with a single or more horns protruding from their heads. Interestingly, Terrorax's animated design features these traits.
Terrorax is one of the few villains, alongside Plaztek, Team Terror and several Ultralinks, that were killed rather than contained.
Terrorax had his own theme song that played almost every time he appeared.
Terrorax is the Team Terror counterpart to Max Steel.
