Terror Energy is an artificial energy created by Dr. Prometheus Halifax. It originates from Max Steel's T.U.R.B.O. Energy. It debuted in Turbo-Charged.

History[]

Development[]

Dr. Prometheus Halifax conducted an extensive research involving Max's T.U.R.B.O. energy that took years to conclude. In the process, he learned about Max's secret identity and his powers' alien origins.

Animated Films[]

Turbo-Charged[]

After collecting blue T.U.R.B.O. energy samples from Maxwell, Terrorax uses a machine to create Terror energy. He later organized a reunion, where he experimented on himself and mutated as a result. Max and La Fiera, who had infiltrated Halifax Industries' building to collect information about Prometheus, witness his "ascension" and fight him. Despite their best efforts however, Terrorax easily overpowered them, forcing Max and his team to retreat. Terrorax later uses Terror energy to empower three monstrous assassins: Night Howl, a technologically-enhanced predator, Snare, a lethal assassin robot equipped with countless traps, and Monstro, a product of science with cloning abilities. They were sent to fight Max and their team, but lost.

Steel manages to track down Terrorax's hideout, where he was preparing to unleash a massive Terror energy wave on Copper Canyon to disrupt the city's technology. To distract Team Turbo, Terrorax sends out Team Terror to fight them while he empowers the Terror energy generator. Despite losing the fight, Terrorax managed to unleash the Terror energy wave, depowering the city. Tempestra and C.Y.T.R.O. distract the villain while Max uses the generator to release a massive wave of green T.U.R.B.O. energy to revitalize the city. Angered, Terrorax fights Max one-on-one, but loses after McGrath unleashes Turbo Armor Mode, seemingly killing the villain. As the base begins to self-destruct, Max and his team rescue Team Terror and take the Terror energy generator with them.

Turbo-Warriors[]

While the Elementors distract Max and Team Turbo, a weakened Terrorax infiltrates their base and rescues Team Terror. With their help, he successfully reobtains the Terror energy generator and escapes from the base. He returns to the Pantheon, a massive flying fortress, and empowers the Elementors, Team Terror and himself with Terror energy, regaining his powers. After warning the world about the Pantheon and Nexus' goals of destroying technology with the use of Terror energy, Team Terror is deployed to fight Team Turbo, successfully winning the fight and capturing Rayne and C.Y.T.R.O..

Max and a mutated Alex later invade the Pantheon, where they take down Monstro, Snare and Night Howl. After restoring Alex's humanity, the two head to the ship's prison level, where they free Rayne and C.Y.T.R.O.. Their reunion is interrupted by the Elementors. After Max is hurled from the ship by Water Elementor's water bazooka, Team Turbo begin their fight against the elemental villains while Max uses Turbo Mountain Attack Mode to get to the top of the ship. In the process, the Pantheon begins to rain down Terror energy on Copper Canyon, causing technology and means of transportation to malfunction.

After getting to the top of the ship, Max uses the Turbo Mobile to implant disc-shaped devices on the exponential towers of the Pantheon. After successfully doing so, the ship begins to produce Max's green T.U.R.B.O. rather than Terror energy. Terrorax intervenes, leading to a fight between the two. Eventually, Terrorax perishes after falling on a green T.U.R.B.O. energy current, burning to ashes. After the Elementors' defeat, Team Turbo reunite with Max and they escape from the ship, which falls on the ocean.

Abilities[]

Like Max's blue T.U.R.B.O. energy, Terror energy enhances the physical capabilities of its user, making them far stronger, durable and agiler than an average individual. It enhances their stamina, allowing the user to battle for hours without needing to recover. Terrorax, a human mutated by Terror energy, also gained the ability of creating Terror-based weapons out of thin air and shapeshift his own body, replacing his hands for axes and giving himself large wings. He also stated in Turbo-Warriors that the energy gave him immortality.

Terror energy is shown to be highly destructive towards technology. In Turbo-Charged, Terrorax easily destroyed Max's gauntlets with relative ease. According to Steel, the Terror energy drains all the power of the user or gear by destabilizing it on a molecular level. The Ultralink later upgraded Max and his team's Steel-Tek, making it more durable against Terror energy.

If the user is charged a second time with Terror Energy, the individual will become much stronger and agiler and its stamina will be enhanced even more. Additionally, the user's appearance changes drastically, as the energy appears to be "sparking" on the user's body and its armor or anything that the user is using gets darker colors, such as black and dark grey, and shining pink lines.

Trivia[]

  • The Terror Energy has the ability of destroying electronic devices, similar to Max's blue T.U.R.B.O. Energy.
  • It is unknown if the Terror Energy is capable of mutating humans by being directly exposed to them, as Prometheus Halifax, the only human who tested the energy on himself, was wearing an armor that channeled it through his body, thus causing his mutation.
