While walking on the Copper Canyon Museum, Max found the Takonian Rock. Kirby proceeded to play football with it, until Sydney appeared and told them it was not a good idea. Meanwhile, Mega-Elementor locates the T.U.R.B.O. Energy signs left from the rock and sends a pair of evil Ultralinks to recover it.

Steel later on analyzes the rock and deduces that it was originally a piece from Takion, and later on unlocks Turbo Spike Mode based on it. After Max's friends are captured by the Reaper Links, he later on willingly gives the rock to the creatures so he could freed them. Realizing that they needed to be solid in order to hold the rock, he used this disadvantage against them and eventually managed to defeat them and free Sydney and Kirby. Max gets the rock, which explodes and reveals a spike from his father's Turbo Spike Mode, which he used during the battle of Takion. He decides to keep it as a reminder of Jim's hero days.
