Secret Identity Crisis is the fifth episode of the Max Steel series. Is about Max's two enemies, Jason Naught and Miles Dredd, are trying to find out Max Steel's true and secret identity so they can defeat him. Then they suspect the wrong kid, Butch, who is the school's bully. This episode was directed by Logan McPherson & Daniel Ife, and written by Benjamin Townsend. This episode was aired on April 13, 2013.
Plot
Max Steel is flying in the sky of Copper Canyon as Turbo Flight Mode on his way to school. Then Max Steel sees a robbery that took place in Copper Canyon's Bank. The Robber escaped from the bank, which they blew up the door of the bank. The Robbers go to their car and then Steel appears behind them and Max who is on his Turbo Base Mode was holding the back of the car, when the Robbers wanted to escape. Then the Robbers crashed Max and then Steel got out of the car and then they got ultralinked and turned into Turbo Strength Mode and hoisted the car up high. Then the police came to arrest the Robbers and then Max Steel who was in Turbo Strength Mode, turned into Turbo Flight and flew away. Then a News Anchor was announcing about Max Steel saving the day and that they are glad to have him in town, even if they don't know the guy behind the mask.
Jason Naught, who was watching the news, he later said that Max Steel should be a student from Copper Canyon High School, which is his point of origins. Then the screen turns to a container behind Jason Naught, which contained Miles Dredd.
At Copper Canyon High School, Max and Sydney were looking for Kirby, which they later find out that he was in a locker, locked by Butch, the school's bully. Then Kirby says that he likes Max'as mother's PB & J Sandwich. Then an alarm that was in Max's head rang, which was from N-Tek. Then he leaves, telling his friends that his dad needs some emergency dental work.
At his way out of Copper Canyon, he trips by someone and then he says sorry and he runs. Without noticing, it was Jason Naught who was wearing sunglasses.
Then he and Steel goes to the Alley and then enter to N-Tek by the secret tunnel.
At N-Tek, they see Forge Ferrus, who is ordering them to clean Berto's Lab, do his laundry, and to make him a roast beef sandwich with extra mayo and no pickles. Then another Forge Ferrus comes, and as a result, the one Forge that was ordering them to do things for Roberto 'Berto' Martinez, was a holographic Forge Ferrus created by Berto. Then Forge told Max and Steel that they are starting to be an attraction to everyone from Copper Canyon and to not make them get attracted by them. Then Katherine 'Kat' Ryan appears and tells them that there is a fire in Copper Canyon High School.
So Forge takes Max and Steel to Copper Canyon High School in an N-Tek Helicopter and then they go inside the school and rescues Sydney and Butch. Then the students thought that Butch rescued Sydney and he lied that he did. Then Jason Naught suspects about Butch being Max Steel.
Jason Naught is plotting on locating a gas bomb in the school, and then send a troop of Dredd Naughts to take Butch with them and to them. So then Jason Naught releases the Dredd Naughts.
At Copper Canyon High School, everyone except Max, think that Butch is a hero. Then Max sits with Butch and Sydney, and a gas bomb releases the gas and everyone got to sleep, except Max. So he turns into Max Steel and then defeats the Dredd Naughts. Then Max leaves and then the students think it was Butch who defeated the Dredd Naughts. Then Max comes and he his angry that they still think it was Butch, just because he was on top of a pile of parts of the Dredd Naughts.
With Jason and Dredd, Jason is upset that Butch defeated the Dredd Naughts, then Miles Dredd escaped and he said he will go there personally to defeat him.

- Jason Naught was seen in sunglasses and in a firefighter's uniform.
- Jason Naught must had caused the fire in Copper Canyon High School.
- The holographic characters created by Berto appeared two times, used to imitate Forge Ferrus, and then to imitate Maxwell McGrath.
- Miles Dredd can now absorb any movements of Max's and cannot explode again.
- In the newspapers, they always take a picture of Steel's back.
