Same old tricks ... So predictable.
—Ragnok, Fugitive

Ragnok is a one-time villain introduced in Fugitive. He is a bounty hunter, a member of the Black Star Council and Ven-Ghan's mentor. According to Ven-Ghan, he is one of the most feared and dangerous bounty hunters in the galaxy. He is voiced by Brian Drummond.

History

Early life

An alien of unknown origins, Ragnok is a bounty hunter and outlaw who will hunt anything for the right price. After Makino tore a destructive path through the galaxy, Ragnok began working for the Black Star Council as an Ultralink Hunter. All of his work eventually led him to being one of the most dangerous bounty hunters in the galaxy.

Ragnok was Ven-Ghan's mentor and friend. At some point, they crossed paths and Ven-Ghan captured a bounty that he considered his own. Ever since, they became bitter rivals.

Season 2

Fugitive

At a deserted planet, Ragnok and Gil are chasing an Earth Elementor. The Ultralink claims that the hunter would never take him alive, though Ragnok mentions that neither him or the Black Star Council cared about that. He then proceeds to use his wrist-mounted cannon to destroy a rock formation, which falls on top of the Elementor. With the creature incapacitated, he uses his gear to unlink and then trap the Ultralink. He leaves the planet, and contacts Black Star Council via his ship to claim his money. The hooded figure tells him that he was going to be rewarded, and asks him if he was up to another hunt. He shows Ragnok Ven-Ghan and N'Baro Aksteel X377's holograms, and informs him of the hunter's betrayal. Ragnok accepts the challenge, claiming that it is going to be fun.

Ragnok heads to Earth, and stops at a small bar on a road. He approaches Vin and Dwayne, who were having a drink, and introduces himself to them. He takes a sip of their drink, but he does not like it and throws it on the floor. After Gil eats Dwayne's bike, he gets angry at Ragnok and attacks him with a chair, but he doesn't even flinch. This results in a fight between Ragnok and the two, which in turn causes everyone inside of the bar to run away. After they are beaten by Ragnok, they steal a motorbike and escape. The hunter that he was just getting warmed up, activating a bomb and throwing it inside of the bar, causing a large explosion that obliterates the place.

At downtown Copper Canyon, Ragnok and Gil are wreaking havoc. Max and Steel confront the hunter, but are thrown across the battlefield after receiving a powerful blow. They then attempt to switch to another Turbo Mode, but the hunter throws a grenade at them while they were transforming, stopping the process. Ven-Ghan enters the fight, and reveals that he knew who Ragnok was. The two engage in combat, but Ragnok emerges victorious as he knew Ven-Ghan's tricks. The hunter is knocked down, and captured by Gil. Ragnok is about to leave the battlefield, and Max attempts to stop him with the Turborang. He throws Steel at the hunter, causing a large explosion. Ragnok is not harmed at all, and takes the Ultralink with him as well.

Later on, Ven-Ghan and Steel manage escape from Ragnok and damage his ship in the process. An angry Ragnok steps out of his ship, telling that Ven-Ghan would not escape so easily. Ragnok chases the two, and ends up at an abandoned mine. He eventually catches them at a dead end, and uses his arm-mounted cannon to shoot a missile that blows up the ground, causing Ven-Ghan and Steel to fall on a giant hole. He leaves the mine and reunites with his Gil, stating that they were not getting out of the mine any time soon. He is then attacked by Max and C.Y.T.R.O. and chases them along with Gil.

Ragnok has the upper arm on the battle. After C.Y.T.R.O. locates Steel (who had managed to escape from the mine), he and Max are reunited and activate Turbo Clone Mode to deal with Ragnok, who effortlessly defeats the hero's small army of replicas. He is attacked by the Turbo Lash, causing Ragnok to get angry. Ven-Ghan attacks the hunter with his ship, but he dodges. The two engage in a one-on-one combat, with Ven-Ghan emerging victorious after tricking Ragnok. With him incapacitated, Ven-Ghan tells him to surrender, but he refuses and activates Gil's self-destruction mode. With the heroes distracted, Ragnok escapes and leaves Earth. The hooded figure contacts him, telling him that he had failed them. Ragnok claims that it was a mere setback, and that he would get Ven-Ghan regardless of the cost.
