Morphos Ahead

Quickfire is a character introduced in Hero Overload. Alongside with Knockout and Power Wing, he was a member of The Superbrawl Strikeforce, a group of superheroes led by Max Steel.

History[]

Early life[]

Nothing is known about Quickfire's former life, other than the fact that Dread offered him, Power Wing and Knockout powers prior to the events of Hero Overload.

Graphic Novels[]

Hero Overload[]

While two thieves were stealing jewels, Quickfire, Power Wing and Knockout introduced themselves and defeated them, garnering attention of the news and Max and Steel's.

While Max is exploring one of Miles Dread's facilities, he is thrown from the building by an explosion and is caught by Power Wing. While Knockout introduces the group to Max, Quickfire and Power Wing invade the building and stumbles upon Dread, who chases him. A fight between Miles and the Superbrawl Strikeforce ensues, though the villains is easily taken down by them. Afterwards, they request Max to mentor them, although he is initially reluctant.

Max later on meets with Power Wing and Knockout when Quickfire suddenly appears and reveals that a group of Dread Naughts were attacking Copper Canyon. They head to the place and Max is easily taken down by the robots while the Superbrawl Strikeforce easily destroy them. They garner the attention of reporters, who praise their actions.

The next day, Max and the group fights against firefighting devices developed by THI that went rogue. Due to Steel's malfunction, Max is forced to retreat and the Superbrawl Strikeforce decide to find him. Quickfire stumbles upon Max and provokes him. He activates his Turbo Speed Mode and chases him through Copper Canyon's streets. He finds out that Quickfire, along with Power Wing and Knockout, were working together with Miles Dread to take him down. Max confronts them and thanks to Knockout, he learns that they were being mind-controlled via siphoning gloves made by Miles. While he deals with Power Wing, Knockout frees Quickfire and they soon team-up to take on Dread. After the villain is defeated, they talk with Max and reveal that they just wanted to be a hero like him.

Abilities[]

  • Superhuman Speed: Quickfire's main ability consists of superhuman speed. He is as fast as Max's Turbo Speed Mode, according to Steel.

Arsenal[]

  • Siphoning Gloves (formerly): Quickfire wore a siphoning glove based on Ultralink technology that caused Steel to go haywire while Max switched between his Turbo Modes.

Appearance[]

Personality[]

Trivia[]

  • The shape of his visor resembles the SPD Rangers from the Power Rangers franchise. Knockout and Quickfire also have similar characteristics to other characters from Power Rangers, such as their colorful armors and helmets, which is most likely a intentional nod to the series.
  • Like Power Wing and Knockout, Quickfire's alter ego makes a reference to his equipment.
