Murakami was a ninja from Japan from many years, that wanted to rule the world. His thirst of damage made him like a protector. He wanted a sword that was anything more powerful than anything in Earth, so he asked to a forger to create one, but when he created it, he put a curse on it. It was said that who ever touched it, its spirit will be sealed in the sword forever. The legend says that who ever touches the handle, the spirit will be released and possessed who ever touched it, and then Murakami will be able to cause chaos and havoc wherever he goes.

When a vendor intentionally put a sword in Kirby Kowalski bag without realizing it, he later became Murakami when he touched the sword. When Max realized that Kirby was possessed by the sword, he immediately ultralinked with Steel, and chased Kirby (or Murakami), which fought against him, but was defeated. Later, the vendor alongside with Berto, talked about the curse of the sword. Meanwhile, Kirby is captured by Jason Naught but he destroys a part of the ship that Jason was, then both stopped at a building under construction, where Murakami fought against Max Steel, while C.Y.T.R.O. defeated Jason Naught. Later, Max realizes that the only thing that would be able to break the sword, was the Turbo Sword, which worked and freed Kirby from Murakami's control.
