“Give it time, patience is a general's most valuable weapon. —Metal Elementor to Blast Link, Full Metal Racket
Metallak was a recurring major antagonist introduced in the second season of Max Steel. He was one of Makino's trusted generals, being responsible for the conquest and annihilation of countless worlds. Due Ultimate Elementor's constant defeats at the hands of Max Steel, Metallak was sent to Earth to subjugate it. After bonding with a metal pyramid, he became Metal Elementor, gaining the ability of manipulating and absorbing metal-based objects. He took command of Elementor's Ultralink troops, leading them against Max Steel and N-Tek. Following a failed assault on N-Tek's undersea base in the South Pacific, Metallak realized that Elementor's loyalty to Makino had been compromised, and decided to absorb them into his being to form Mega-Elementor.
After the death of Makino at the hands of Max Steel, Metal and his brothers became stranded on Earth. Alongside his brothers, Toxzon and Extroyer, Metal later allied with Miles Dread and Max Steel to take down Morphos. After the timeskip, Metal became the leader of the Elementors and the group worked for the highest bidder, such as Professor Mortum, who recruited them to steal the Connect-Tek device. The Elementors were later recruited by Terrorax, who introduced them to the Nexus organization. They were empowered with Terror Energy and confronted Team Turbo, but they lost and met their demise.
Metallak was one of Makino's generals who led a powerful army that devastated countless alien worlds and civilizations, such as Takion[2] and Kaduonn[3], Ven-Ghan's homeworld.
While Makino watched some of the fights of the Elementors against Max Steel, Metallak approaches and says that he would be the one responsible for eliminating the hero. Makino proceeds to say that planets like Takion and Earth resisted like no others, especially the latter due to Steel and Max's efforts. Metallak says that he will destroy him for humiliating his honor and will take control of Elementor's troops. Makino mentions about Dread, who Metallak should be aware of. He proceeds to find a target to Megalink with and encounters a metal statue in southern Mexico. He assumes his sphere form and goes there and bonds with the object, thus becoming Metal Elementor.
Back on the Makino Destroyer, Metallak reunites with Makino's troops and explains their mission of conquering Earth and destroying Max Steel. Ultimate Elementor sarcastically says "good luck", which angers Metallak and mentions that he could absorb them into their being, and that he should as they didn't subdue earth years ago. They apologize and Metallak proceeds to say that he would not fail and instead would turn them into a powerful force to destroy Max Steel for Makino's glory. Later on, Elementor is saying that they would destroy Max Steel, though Metallak approaches them and disagrees, saying that they would stay. Suddenly, Miles Dread appears and asks if he was interupting, in which Metallak sarcastially refers to him as the "infamous Miles Dread". He presents himself and commands to Miles' forces serve his, but he refuses to. He approaches him and says that when he destroys Max Steel, Dread's deal with Makino would be over, though Miles says that he was looking forward to this day and changes the subject by asking about the attack. Metallak shows a video of Maxwell saying that Max Steel would appear in the Battle of the Bands and he says that he would destroy their hero before their eyes.
Max faces Metal Elementor.
In the following day, during the battle of the bands, Metallak's forces attack Copper Canyon. Metal Elementor is sent there, and slowly forms himself while Max Steel watches at distance, asking what was "that thing". He roars and jumps at Max and uses his saw to attack him, though he quickly dodges and he hits a building instead. After rescuing the civilians and defeating the Ultralinks, Max deals with Metallak, who activates his saw and proceeds to fight with him, referring to Steel as a deserter and that he betrayed his army and he would pay for that. Their fight is interupted by C.Y.T.R.O., who launches missiles on Metallak and takes him down for few seconds. He assumes his liquid form and reforms himself, later using his metal-based powers to lift a truck and tosses it on Max Steel.
Metal Elementor is defeated.
The duo go to a metal processing plant, where Metallak follows them and says that he would destroy them. Max attempts to fight with the villain with his Turbo Strength Mode, but he quickly take him down and tosses metal bars at them. He says that Steel had allied with a pathetic human and was planning to destroy his own kind, in which Steel replies that he at least wasn't one of Makino's "lackeys", which angers Metallak and he proceeds to violently grab them and restrain them on the ground. He activates his saw and attempts to kill them, but Max quickly gets up after seeing barrels of metal corrosives. He tricks Metallak by making him shoot the barrels, which causes the liquid to spray over him and corrode his skin, thus weakening him. Max uses Turbo Cannon Mode to finish him off. Though weak, he says that he would destroy him for Makino's glory before getting up and escaping thanks to a Makino Destroyer nearby.
At the ship, he appears quiet and was unresponsive toward Elementor's banter. Later on, Chomp Link appears seeing the clip of Max and his band's song, which angers Metallak, making him destroy the screen with rage.
Miles Dread informs Metal Elementor that N-Tek's undersea base at the South Pacific was developing a Takion missile. The Megalink then informs his fleet, claiming that this weapon could be potent enough to annihilate their master Makino. Ultimate Elementor is eager to lead the assault, but Metal interferes and says that he would be the one instead.
Metal Elementor and the Ultralinks invade the N-Tek undersea base.
Metal Elementor and a small army of Ultralinks head to the facility. With Elementor's help, Metal invades the base. He demands an answer about the Takion missile to Commander Parker, who is left confused. He throws a grenade at the villain and runs away, causing a conflict between the Ultralinks and the N-Tek agents. Max Steel, in his Turbo Scuba Mode, later arrives to help them. After they retreat, Metal Elementor commands his soldiers to search the base, while he would deal with Max.
Ultimate Water Elementor rescues Metal Elementor.
Metal finds Max, Parker and other N-Tek agents. He tells them to fall back and focus on Chomp, Blast and Prism while he would deal with the Megalink. Max is found by the Ultralink trio while being chased by Elementor. Blast reveals that there was no sign of a Takion missile, but Elementor doesn't cares as they could destroy Max Steel right there. McGrath tells Parker to seal the blast doors on the sector that he was in. Though reluctant at first, he does as he is told. Max tricks Metal Elementor in launching a saw at the walls of the sector, causing the place to be flooded with water. Now in advantage, Max pushes Elementor to the depths of the ocean. He begins to be affected by the water pressure, nearly killing him. Ultimate Elementor interferes and rescues Metallak.
At a Makino Destroyer, Metal and Blast are re-watching a recording of the former's defeat at the hands of Max Steel. Metallak was sure that Ultimate Elementor would have allowed the hero to finish him off, although Blast claims that he had saved him. Metal says that he always followed his instincts, and that he was sure that Elementor's loyalty to Makino had been compromised. Blast suggests to Metallak to absorb him using his annexing abilities. Their conversation is interrupted by Ultimate Elementor, who had been contacted by Metal earlier. He proposes a challenge to the Ultralinks: to capture Max Steel in twenty-four hours. Though reluctant at first, Elementor accepts it and tells him to prepare a stasis cell.
Ultimate Elementor brings Ven-Ghan and Steel to Metal Elementor.
Hours later, Elementor brings Steel, who was imprisoned inside an Ultralink pod, and Ven-Ghan to Metal Elementor, much to his surprise. He demands the hunter to release the Ultralink from his prison, but he refuses to. Metal tells Elementor to force him to free Steel by any means necessary.
Ven-Ghan versus Metal Elementor.
Max later invades the Makino Destroyer, rescuing Ven-Ghan and Steel. While trying to escape from the ship, they are found by Metal Elementor. While Steel uses Turbo Mimic Strength Mode to punch through the walls of the ship, Ven-Ghan and Max deal with the villain. After the hunter attacks Elementor, he mentions that he had destroyed his world, and when he killed him, it would have been like his kind never existed. Max comments that he wouldn't destroy any other worlds and charges at him. With the help of McGrath, Ven-Ghan deals with decisive blow to Elementor, defeating him.
Metal Elementor later approaches Ultimate Elementor, who was locked inside of a stasis cell. He tells him that he had failed and that he would suffer the consequences. Using his annexing abilities, Metal Elementor annexes Ultimate Elementor, creating Mega-Elementor.
Mega-Elementor tracks Max Steel's T.U.R.B.O. Energy in island. He organizes a plan to destroy the place alongside the hero.
Metal Elementor's defeat.
After the Ultralinks are beaten by Max Steel and the Turbo Jet, Mega-Elementor decides to step in and settle things. After the hero uses Turbo Clone Mode, Mega-Elementor splits itself into their five primal forms. However, Max's clones easily subdue them. Using multiple of his Turbo Modes, Max throws Elementor to the inside of a volcano. The two fight one-on-one, with the villain having the upper arm. He throws Elementor into the lava, but he quickly re-emerges and goes back to fighting. Realizing that lava wasn't hot enough to melt him, Max decides to activate Turbo Heat Mode and uses large amounts of flame to defeat the Megalink. Elementor is reduced to a malformed, melting body. Desperate, he begins to swing his mace back and forth, causing a formation from the top of the volcano to fall at him and sink him on lava.
He later uses his annexing abilities to re-capture the other Elementors.
While heading to the energy source of the Alphalink, Max is confronted by Mega-Elementor. He tries to defeat Max, but his clashing personalities begin to argue. Max shrugs it off and uses the Turbo Star to defeat Elementor. The blast was potent enough to divide them to their primal forms.
Max and Metal race for the Makino central processing unit.
The Elementors head to an open area in a forest where Makino's central processing unit was located. They find Max Steel, who had arrived earlier. Metal claims that he would be the one to heir his maker's powers, leading to a fight between them. While his brothers clash with each other, Metal reminds them that Max Steel shouldn't be the one to get the unit. The Elementors clash, but are easily subdued by the hero's Turbo Strength Mode. Metal attacks Max with his saw, but the hero punches him, sending him flying across the battlefield. Eventually, Jim arrives and jumps from a N-Tek Jump Jet on the battlefield, causing a massive T.U.R.B.O. energy explosion. With the other Ultralinks temporarily defeated and Max and N-Tek distracted, Metal run toward the unit and touches it, causing a Makino hologram to be projected. He kneels before his leader, telling him he's content to be the one to heir his power, until the hologram claims he should prove his worth, much to Metal's annoyance. A giant dome is created by the unit, which the Elementor and the other Ultralinks promptly enter.
Prism and the Ultralinks witness Makino's rebirth.
Inside the dome, Metal faces Makino's mental projections, defeating many of them with relative ease. However, Max eventually reaches the central processing unit and is taken over by Makino, who bonds to his link port. The dome closes and the Ultralinks watch as Makino is reborn with a new host. Metal kneels before his leader and asks how they could serve him. Annoyed, Makino throws an energy sphere at them, throwing them across the battlefield.
Metal and the remaining Ultralinks follow Makino, who is at a mountain observing Copper Canyon. He comments how much Earth disgusts him, yet the Ultralinks don't agree, mentioning the humans' amusement parks, movies and pizza. Angered, Makino attacks them and comments that neither pizzas or Max Steel would save the Earth. Suddenly, the warlord begins to punch himself and flies away, leaving the Ultralinks confused.
Metal is wreaking havoc at Copper Canyon's streets when Morphos intervenes. After having his powers stolen, Metal is arrested and taken to the Copper Canyon prison. Miles Dread later invades the place and frees Metal alongside the other four Elementors, Extroyer and Toxzon. Upon seeing Max, who had been restrained by Miles with an energy field, the villains are happy to finally have revenge, with Metal claiming he wanted his kidneys. Dread reveals that their target was Morphos, much to their confusion. Miles allies with the villains and Max Steel to take down Morphos.
Max and the villains combine their powers.
Max and Miles' small army land on Copper Canyon's streets and fight against the mutated citizens of Copper Canyon. They combine their powers and temporarily manage to neutralize the villain. After recovering, Morphos combines all of his powers into a hybrid form and successfully overpower the villains. Max later unlocks Turbo Exo Strength Mode, allowing him to successfully defeat Morphos. Afterwards, Metal and the other villains escape.
The Elementors, Extroyer and Toxzon are contacted by Mortum, a mysterious villains who claims to have defeated N-Tek. Despite their reluctance at first, Mortum manages to convince them. In turn, they would obtain a device named Connect-Tek.
Metal fights Max.
After Mortum picks up activity in Ice Box, he sends out the Elementors to investigate. Max, C.Y.T.R.O., Alejandro Villar and Rayne Martinez closes themselves inside of the base, but the Elementors manage to get inside. Max manages to temporarily distract them with turrets and retreat into another section of the base where the Connect-Tek was located. Metal later arrives and tries to tear the door open with his abilities. However, they are knocked back after a massive T.U.R.B.O. energy blast, which is then revealed to be Max and the newly formed Team Turbo. Max fights with Metal, who makes a remark about McGrath's new allies. During the combat, he comments how he and his brothers were united, stating they were a pack of wolves under his command. He reveals that they were distracting Max's allies while Fire went inside the base to steal the Connect-Tek. Max commands his team to retrieve the device, but they are taken down by the Elementors.
Team Turbo defeats Mega-Elementor.
The Elementors begin to argue with each other as to who should wield the Connect-Tek. Their discussion is interrupted by Toxzon, who releases a toxic gas through his gauntlets that disperses the group. He then steals the Connect-Tek and leaves. Eventually, Max manages to obtain the device. He and his team are cornered by the the Elementors, Toxzon and Extroyer, who team-up to defeat them. Metal later fuses with Firestorm Elementor to create Mega-Elementor. However, he is defeated by a combined attack from Team Turbo.
Alongside his brothers, Metallak appears listening to Terrorax's plans. He asks why Terrorax had invoked them, with Earth asking why he couldn't resort to "his precious lord Nexus". Terrorax replies that he was too weak and needed their help to rise again and continue with his plans. To convince them, he promises them powers beyond their wildest dreams and then ask if they were on his side. They shout the Nexus' battle cry.
The Elementors about to fight against Team Turbo.
Using their elemental powers, the Elementors attack Copper Canyon's beach. After Max and Team Turbo prevent a tsunami from destroying the city, the Elementors reveal themselves. Meanwhile, Terrorax invades Team Turbo's headquarters, freeing Team Terror and successfully reobtaining is Terror energy generator. After doing so, Terrorax contacts Metal, claiming that he had obtained the device. The Elementors retreat and head to the Pantheon, where they are empowered with Terror Energy.
After Team Turbo invades the Pantheon, Metal and his brothers approach them, showing their new empowered forms. After each member of the team activate Turbo Modes for combat, Water shoots Max from the ship with his water bazooka. After Team Turbo manages to temporarily neutralize them, Metal fuses with Fire to form Fire and Metal Elementor, while Earth and Water fuse to form Earth and Water Elementor. Tempestra tricks Metal and Fire, causing him to accidentally un-fuse Earth and Water by damaging their cores. Earth attempts to fuse with them, but Metal rejects him, pushing him away.
Metal Elementor's death.
C.Y.T.R.O., using his drill, manages to perforate Fire and Metal's energy core, un-fusing them as well. Metal Elementor refuses to be defeated, and absorbs the Terror energy from his unconscious brothers to become stronger. As a result, Metal becomes a giant and gains more armor and claims that they were in serious danger. While La Fiera and Tempestra distracts him, C.Y.T.R.O. transforms into a drill to dig a hole on Metal's back. Alex infiltrates his body and destroys his insides, leading to Elementor's death. He falls on the floor and his core deactivates.
Metal interrogates Ven-Ghan in a cavern, asking where his prisoner was. The hunter refuses to reveal it and Elementor opens a door, claiming he would find a way. From inside the door, Max Steel appears and punches him, causing the villain to fly across the battlefield. He liquifies himself and materializes behind Max's back. After Max activates Turbo Cannon Spike Mode, he temporarily incapacitates Elementor by making rock formations fall on him. He emerges from the rubble after Water and Earth appear, but Max, Steel and Ven-Ghan leave the place.
Max, Steel and Ven-Ghan get inside of the Multi Striker and fly away. Air and Earth fuse themselves and goes after them, managing to make the vehicle crash. Metal grabs Ven-Ghan and throws him to the ground, causing one of his containment capsules to drop. Elementor activates the device, causing Makino to be freed. He creates a destabilizing drill to destroy the Earth.
While Max prevents the drill from reaching Earth's core, Ven-Ghan manages to trap Air and Earth Elementors inside of one of his containment capsules. After delivering a powerful blow on Metal, the villain is also trapped in of the hunter's capsules.
Powers and Abilities[]
Powers[]
Megalink Abilities
Linking Abilities: Like other of his kind, Metallak could bond with organic or inorganic material and weaponize it. In his case, he bonded with a metal pyramid to create a humanoid creature capable of manipulating and absorbing metal-based objects.
Annexing: Being a Megalink, Metal can absorb (or annex) other Ultralinks into his being to augment his power.
Superhuman Strength: Being a Megalink, Metal was considerably more powerful than regular Ultralinks. He was gifted with immense strength, being capable of destroying building pillars, grab, lift and throw Max Steel in his Turbo Cannon Mode and deactivate the hero's Turbo Strength Mode with one blow, hurling him across the battlefield.
Superhuman Durability: Metal Elementor's body was extremely durable, being capable of withstanding extremely high temperatures (such as lava) and various continued attacks from Max Steel, as seen in Hot Zone.
Weapon Creation: Metal Elementor's hands could shapeshift into two weapons: a mace and a saw. He could generate and launch giant saw projectiles in rapid succession, and also control them back to him.
Underwater Breathing: As seen in Deep Turbo Blue Sea, Metal could breathe in underwater environments.
Ferrokinesis: Metallak's primary power consisted of manipulating metal objects. He could control any metal-based object around him, being capable of levitating it and throwing it at his foes. He could also absorb metal to increase his power.
Liquefaction: Metallak was capable of turning his body into a puddle of metal. He could quickly travel from one place to another via this form.
Terror Energy Generation: In Turbo-Warriors, Metal was empowered by Prometheus' Terror energy, causing his body to generate large amounts of said power. His conditions are enhanced even further, making him stronger, faster and more durable than before. He can also absorb the Terror energy from other beings in order to increase his power and size.
Terror Energy Absorption/Size Alteration: Metal could absorb the Terror energy from other beings in order to increase his size and power. In Turbo-Warriors, he absorbed the energy of his brothers, turning into an armored, giant-sized version of himself.
Abilities[]
Expert Tactician: Being one of Makino's most trusted commanders, Metallak was responsible for the conquest and destruction of various alien worlds.
Arsenal[]
Blade: In Turbo-Warriors, Metal Elementor got a bladed weapon made out of metal and Terror Energy.
Weaknesses[]
Energy Core: Metallak possessed an energy core in his forehead, like other of his kind. If hit, he will feel an agonizing pain for a short period of time, allowing his foes to attack.
Metal Corrosives: Being made of metal, Elementor could be defeated by using metal corrosives, like hydrochloric acid. Max and Steel utilized this strategy to defeat him in Full Metal Racket.
Durability Limit: Despite being highly durable, Metal Elementor's body was unable to withstand water pressure and intense heat. In Deep Turbo Blue Sea, Max dragged Metal to the depths of the ocean, and, as a result of the water pressure, his body began to deform. In Hot Zone, the T.U.R.B.O-powered flames of Max's Turbo Heat Mode melted Metal's body, leaving him in a weakened state.
Before bonding with the metal pyramid, Metallak was a regular Megalink. His armor featured traces of gold and he had the head mold of a Fighter Ultralink. His Megalink pod was red-colored and had a spiky armor around it.
As Metal Elementor, he gains a large and muscular build and a hunched over posture. His body is metallic silver with golden accents on the fingers and toes. He has a line of segmented golden spikes that begin on his neck and end on his back. He has black eyes with red irises, double-layered teeth and a red energy core on the forehead region. His hands can shapeshift into a golden saw or a golden mace with silver spikes. In Team Turbo, Metallak's appearance slightly changes. His eyes are now red and he gains golden accents on his ankles. These changes are later discarded in Turbo-Warriors, however. His body gains a darker shade of silver and his eyes and core glow light red.
In Turbo-Warriors, Metallak is charged with Terrorax's Terror Energy and his body gains a light purple aura and sparks of said energy. His core and eyes' color also switches to light purple. He later obtains an armored, giant-sized form after he absorbs the Terror energy from his brothers.
In terms of constitution, Metallak's body consists in several types of metal (for example, titanium and iron), according by a scan made by Steel in Full Metal Racket.
Personality[]
Commanding, ruthless, strict, proud and arrogant, Metallak single-mindedly served Makino, being one of his most fearsome generals. Responsible for the destruction of various worlds, Metallak shows no remorse for the lives he has taken, going as far as boasting his actions like in The Ultralink Hunter. After finding a host to bond with, Metal Elementor took over Elementor's fleet with the intent of turning it into a powerful force to take down N-Tek and Max Steel, denoting his ambitious and strategic traits. His strategic side is further emphasized in Full Metal Racket. Contrary to Ultimate Elementor, who prefers plans involving simple and direct forms of attack, Metal prefers to wait and analyze his enemy and then attack. Like others of his kind, Metal deeply resented Steel due to his betrayal, mainly because he was once a member of his army. He also shows a certain disgust toward Max, referring him to as Steel's "pathetic human". Short-tempered, Metal can get easily angered when others refer to him as an "Ultralink" rather than a Megalink.
Metal had a hatred against the Elementors, referring to them as a "big failure", stating that they were on Earth for more than sixteen years and weren't capable of conquering it nor destroying Max Steel. In Torbolt Te Terrible, Elementor is shown to have a disdain against his fleet, as, while privately talking with Torbolt, he said he was surrounded by "incompetents". Despite his contempt toward the Elementors, he eventually unite forces with them. In Team Turbo, he becomes their leader and uses a metaphor to describe their bond, comparing them to a pack of wolves under his command.
In The Wrath of Makino, Makino comments about how much he detested Earth and Metallak, Blast and Prism tried to convince him otherwise by talking about their movies, amusement parks and pizza, suggesting that Elementor was starting to like the human culture.
"I have conquered many worlds, all yielded before the might of the Makino! And that might is about to destroy the weak, puny Max Steel!" — Deep Turbo Blue Sea
"I destroyed your planet, Ven-Ghan. And when I destroy you, it will be like your kind never existed!" — The Ultralink Hunter
"You heroes ... you valiantly. But you cannot win. Strike them down, and it only makes me stronger! Terror energy is a wonderous thing! Never have we been this powerful, never have we been this ELEMENTAL! And never have you been so doomed!" — Turbo-Warriors
Metal Elementor appears in Sneaky Ultralinks, questioning the Ultralink trio as to what was their plan to take down Max Steel and N-Tek.
Metal Elementor appears in Full Metal Elementor, where he introduces himself to Chomp Link while Max and Steel sneak into the Makino Destroyer they were in.
Games[]
Metal Elementor appears as an enemy unit in Turbo Tactics.
Toys[]
Metal Elementor gained a 12" action figure in 2014. It was initially released for Latin American markets and later worldwide.
Metal Elementor was featured in the 6" Max Steel Vs Metal Elementor battle pack released worldwide in early 2014.
Metal Elementor had another 6" action figure planned to be released in 2014, but it was scrapped.
A 18" action figure of Metal Elementor named as Armored Elementor was released in early 2017 for Latin American markets.
A 12" action figure of Metal and Fire Elementor was released in late 2017 under the name of Metal Blaze Elementor.
Behind the Scenes[]
For the reboot series, Elementor was split into five characters with distinct personalities, each representing an element of nature. Metal Elementor inherits some design traits from his classic counterpart, having a segmented line of spikes on his neck/back and double-layered teeth.
Alongside Ven-Ghan, Metal Elementor was featured in the two initial trailers made for the second season. The scene in which he appears originally came from Elements of Surprise Part One, which was modified to insert Metal Elementor in it. He appears attacking N-Tek's base while Forge and other agents attack him with their blasters. He proceeds to throw a rock at them while Makino remotely watches him.
Metallak was notably different compared to others of his kind. Megalinks usually have red accents for their armor and the Raider Ultralink mold for its head, while Metallak possessed gold traces on his armor and a Fighter Ultralink mold for his head.
He is the only Elementor to possess five fingers and three toes.
An Ultralink with similar traits and appearance to that of Metal Elementor was made for promotional material of the series. The Ultralink was never featured in the show, however.
Notes[]
In Turbo-Warriors, Elementors absorbs his brothers in a desperate attempt to defeat Team Turbo. The scene suffer from continuity issues, with the initial shot featuring three Elementors (Water, Fire and Air). In the next two, Water is replaced with Earth. For the sake of clarity, it is assumed that Metal absorbed all four Elementors, not three of them.
