When Max was called by Ven-Ghan to assist him in capturing a group of evil Ultralinks, Max goes to an alley in a dead end, but was unaware of the fact that Butch and his sidekicks were following. Kirby and Sydney follow them as well and end up on the same place where they are bonded with evil Ultralinks. Due to the soda cup he was holding, Kirby becomes a "Soda Link".
As they had no control over themselves, they began to attack Max, with Kirby releasing a soda wave on them. The group escape to the sewers, but are tracked down by Ven-Ghan's Ultralinks. Max Steel and Ven attempt to fight against them, but they end up on an empty water reservoir. There, Kirby was the first to be unlinked, as Max made him remember how he loved food, wear aluminum clothing and that he was on a band, which successfully weaken his link and allows him to be unlinked by Ven-Ghan.
Abilities
Superhuman Strength: Since Kirby was linked with an Ultralink, he was enhanced and got weapons on his hands, them being a blade and a cannon.
Soda Cannon: Kirby Link has a cannon on his left arm that is able to shoot a wave of orange soda.

Kirby just got this transformation because he had a cup of soda on his hand. If he didn't had one on his hands, he would have gotten another transformation.
